The Lost City, just north of Lithgow, is a rugged, untouched wilderness that resembles an old decaying civilisation. This is our inspiration for a hazy beer, equally untouched by the brewing process, giving it the full flavour and aroma from its natural ingredients. Imagine sipping on a tropical paradise embodied in a glass. It bursts with zesty citrus, juicy oranges, grapefruits, and a hint of sweet mango. As you take your first sip, you'll experience a rich, velvety mouthfeel. The flavour profile is dominated by intense citrus, perfectly balanced by the subtle sweetness of ripe mango. Each sip deepens the fruity complexity, gradually unveiling hints of peach and apricot. A harmonious finish blends citrus and stone fruit, leaving a pleasant, lingering bitterness. This Hazy New England India Pale Ale (NEIPA) is a tantalising journey through tropical orchards with a silky smooth texture that will leave you craving for more.

You may have heard that Lithgow’s Zig Zag Railway has reopened, however, you may not know Zig Zag Brewery beer is back too and, within 9 months of operation, we are proud to have won 4 awards for our beers. You will not just be tasting one of the finest beers in NSW, but also tasting a little bit of history. Since 1888, beer has been crafted onsite by our master brewers.
It’s no surprise that the most important ingredient in any beer is water. And that’s where the brewery is situated – built on the site of an incredibly pure rock-filtered spring with a steady flow of water. Adding the best hops, malts, and yeasts creates probably the best beer you’ll ever taste (we know, we’re biased).
