What best describes you?

Do you have an A-type coupler?

To tap our kegs you need a commercial style A-Type coupler. If you already have one then just add a $99 keg bond to your cart (below) and start swapping.

If you need a coupler with ball lock connectors (for corny keg gear) or with push fittings we’ve got you covered, just add to cart the Keg & Coupler pack before selecting a brew.

Kegs are collected from the brewery when you pick up your first brew, so you don’t need to hand over a swap keg when collecting your first full keg.

Couplers are posted however, if you are in Sydney and are in dire need please let us know, if we can we will drop off the coupler to the brewery where you are collecting your keg so you can get it all at once.

Hell yeah, the couplers come with push fitting connectors and with ball lock connectors so they can be used with ball lock connectors.

Size:  24cm diameter, 57cms tall. With a coupler 69cms tall.

Weight: 25kgs when full, 5kg when empty.

Yes, the cost of the keg isn’t so much in the material ($2.00 difference) but in the manufacturing so yes, they do cost the same.

Dam straight you can, if you want a 10L today and a 20L next time just swap away. Only catch is that you need to go to a brewery that offers both sizes when doing a change up.

So which simple set up is best for me – Gun or Tap?

It boils down to the size of your fridge. If you have heaps of room then go the tap, it’s easier to clean, fun to use and the super model of the options! If you only just have enough room for the keg then go with the gun, it’s still super fun and the cleaning cap makes it easy to clean the beer line.

There’s no hard and fast rule but you’d ideally want to drink the beer within a couple of months. So if you normally have a 6 pack in a week then go the 20L keg otherwise, wait for the 10L which is coming very, very soon.

The 20L kegs have 53 cans in them. So avoid 2.2 cases of waste.

The simplest option is to use a Soda Stream gas bottle which can be picked up from any Coles / Woolies. They will dispense 3-5 kegs, cost $35 for the first bottle then $18 for refills.

Other option is to get a bigger gas bottle, Speed Gas sells lager bottles which cost more to start out but are much cheaper to fill.

So you just want to party, the one question to ask is…

Do you plan to (responsibly) finish the kegs in one sitting?

The best approach (for your beer quality and longevity) is to use CO2 to push out your precious brews but if you are definitely planning to finish the keg in one sitting (within 12hrs) then the “No Gas” options can be considered but forewarning – oxygen kills beer so after tapping you’ll have hours rather than months to enjoy the beer.

The most annoying thing of kegged beer is that warm kegs equals lots of head. So if you want to avoid milkshake beer you need to keep kegs cold, super cold, ideally 2-4 degrees. So how do you do that for a party? Safest way is to pick it up from the brewery and put straight into a bucket of ice or esky / cool box.
